I have been gluten-free for just about a month. I chose to try this (insane) diet to clean my body from all wheat products in hopes of clear skin. I have had adult acne on my chest and back since puberty. Trust me -- I've tried it all except for accutane. In a last-ditch effort to get pretty skin, before taking accutane, I have tried this diet.
My previous diet consisted of:
Breakfast: Toast with peanut butter and a banana. Plus a cup or two of coffee.
Lunch: Peanut butter and jelly or grilled cheese sandwich. Or if I had bounds of energy mac and cheese.
Snack: chocolate chip cookie
Dinner: Burrito, taco, pasta, or similar.
After dinner: chocolate chip cookie and a beer.
ALL contain GLUTEN!
So throughout this past month of being on this new diet, I have been constipated, hungry, pissy, and tired. All for the hopes of pretty skin. Well, my face looks awesome! So clear and great! No change on the chest and back. So, I officially give up on the diet and will revert to my previous diet and begin a regime of accutane.

Here are a few items which I seriously am in love with. They all evoke the feeling of having a great story behind them. The style of each piece is unique, yet clean and streamlined. Some are rustic and some are vibrantly colored. All are mid century. Which is your favorite?

Our Trip Started off with a Bang!
Last week my husband and I ditched the kids and went to Nevis, in the West Indies for a quick break enjoying the Caribbean Sea. We had a late night red eye from LAX to Miami. On our dive up to the airport, we were discussing moving back up to LA. Not really, but where we would move if we had the opportunity again. We talked about the West Side, WEHO (our old stomping ground) and the hills.
Well we missed our exit on the 405 for LAX so we took the next one, La Cienega. Headed north out of Inglewood we both saw what looked like a J-walker in the center of the road. From my view, it looked like he was going to walk toward the car in front of us (maybe 30 or so yards), then he stopped.
Well up comes our car and the black hooded man just stood there. That is until our car was passing him. He cocked both hands in the air and threw a large brick into the driver side window. Glass shattered everywhere. I mean everywhere. It went into our hair, down our pants, all over us. Luckily I yelled "Oh my god!" or something (I can't quite remember) but my husband looked at me and not directly at the brick.
We then went to the Magic Johnson's Fridays to call the police and get as much glass off of us as possible. After 45 minutes the police never showed up. My husband decided we were still going to go on our vacation, so we drove (sitting in glass, mind you) to Wally Park where we valeted the car. Got on the bus to LAX, the flight (of course after stripping down and trying to brush off as much glass as possible before redressing), and on to Miami. Luckily we went to the Lounge in Miami and showered before heading off to St. Kitts and then taking a boat to Nevis. It was a crazy start to a fun and relaxing get away. That and three rum punches on the boat to Nevis.

Fashion Obsession: Charmed Design Bracelets
I am seriously loving these bracelets! They are fun, hip, and come in great colors. They are made by Lori, from Charmed Design out of New Haven, Connecticut. Check out some of Lori's designs: Charmed Design. Lori is the sweetest lady with a huge heart!
The coolest part?! Each charm for the bracelet is different and comes in variations such as "peace sign," "protection charms," and "tree of life," among a ton of others. I'm talking about jewelry with meaning! Can't get any better. Which one do you like best?!

Vacation!
I am headed off next week to Nevis, in the West Indies for a trip with my husband. I am so excited to have some time away and enjoy the warmth of the Caribbean Sea. My dear mom is coming to watch the kids and try to keep the schedule as close to normal as possible. In light of the trip, I have found some awesome things which are getting me into the mood. What do you think? Don't they just scream "holiday and relaxation?!"
